MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A strong storm downed trees and power lines in several McDowell County communities on Tuesday night.
The most damage happened in the Pleasant Gardens community near Old Fort. The Emergency Management Director says four homes were damaged and one car totaled.
Nearby on Highway 70, a tree fell on a power line and was blocking the road for some time.
Crews cut the tree, but were still working at 8:30 PM to restore power.
