The M1 Abrams tank has been in service since the early 80s and will be our MBT well into the future. The Abrams just keep getting rebuilt and upgraded. They are dissassembled in Anniston Alabama and are then rebuilt in Lima Ohio. Once the tests are completed, they are sent to a firing range to test their weapons - 120mm smoothbore gun and machine guns. After passing all tests the tanks are issued to American troops for use in service. Pics from defensetalk.com
