This is another very rare piece of footage of the rare 1998-2002 version of the "it's a small world" clock parade from Disneyland, from 1999 or 2000. Although most versions before 2003 are rare, this one has the distinction of having different fanfares and different music in the second portion. We don't hear any of the fanfares, however we do hear at least several seconds of all three portions. This is really amazing because surprisingly there is not very much documentation of the 1998-2002 clock parade, so any footage can be considered rare. There is one full 2001 video, but in that one the audio and video aren't the best quality. There's also another higher quality 2001 or 02 footage, though it's only 23 seconds, as well as another partial, an average quality clip from 1999, and a higher quality but muffled audio & very short clip from 1998. Some of these I've posted, and I'm also thinking about posting the 1998 one at some point in the future. All of them are linked below. About the audio, the first portion is the only to still pretty much completely use the original audio from 1966, complete with the original masters. The most noticable difference is that around the 80's-90's the masters became a little worn down after playing for 20+ years, and due to the higher quality of this video, you can hear it rather clearly. In 2003 they restored most of the original masters to the ride including that one, most of which had been gone since 1993 or earlier. Though it's not shown here, during most of the period that they had the pastel coat on the façade seen in this video, they also played some of the Disneyland Paris soundtrack for the queue music and inside the ride. The biggest exception was the clock parade, which continued to use the original music (with a couple 70's?-90's alterations to the last portion) through most of 1997. After the initial 1997 IASW Holiday overlay, in early 1998 they switched to the music heard in this video. It only lasted until 2002, because in 2003, when they restored most of the original tracks to the ride, they also installed a partially restored/remastered, and partially completely new version of this audio which is also still playing today. Anyway, the second portion in this 98-02 version is also a completely new recording, using the same template as the others but with different instruments. For the last portion, the hour chimes are the same pitch as the current version (since 1990), while the minute chimes heard here were installed sometime in the late 80's or 90's, and used until 2003. I think this video is from 1999 or 2000 since there were a few other clues in the original video, such as construction for California Adventure. Though it's still a shorter video, it's a really amazing document of the time and this rare part of it's a small world and Disneyland's history. I hope you enjoy this video!
I do not own any of the audio or the video used in this video. All audio rights go to Disney and all video rights go to the original owner, the channel zwaantjin on Youtube. Original video linked above.
