The Black-bellied Bustard (Lissotis melanogaster), previously know as the Black-bellied Korhaan, is a large ground-dwelling bird found in woodland and open grassland areas of sub-Saharan Africa.
Within their territory, males will find an elevated to make himself visible and call. During the call, the males stretch their necks towards the sky and make a croaking call before suddenly pulling his neck down against his breast to let our a very characteristic popping sound!
