Worked better on foam flooring for me
I have 2 locations where I do the bulk of my working out in my home. One has tile floors and the other has foam flooring (the kind that puzzles together). I've been trying to increase my core work and a lot of the workouts use gliders. I already owned 2 sets of the hard plastic with foam on one side. They worked just fine when I was working out on tile. Life required I adjust to the foam flooring for these workouts though, and they did not work! I'll admit I have a weak core (thus the core focused workouts), but I couldn't even do modified versions of the the exercises. There was too much drag no matter what side I used. I also had issues with my feet staying on the disks with certain workouts.
I hated buying more sliders, but decided to give these a shot since the foam side was textured. I was hoping to wedge my heel or toes in yhe valleys of the pattern. It works. They still get away from me occasionally, but I'm able to complete my workout without fighting gliders the whole time. A bonus feature that I missed when ordering is that these snap together. I can see that being useful for some exercises. My only issue with these is the shape. They spin a bit when I use them, and not being round, that means they sometimes bump into each other in ways that doesn't happen with round ones. This is definitely not a deterrent from me recommending them though. They are great!
