STORYLINE
Palestinian militants fired at least two rockets from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel early Tuesday, injuring one person in the town of Sderot, the Israeli army said.
The rocket that hit Sderot caused some power outages and caused panic among residents, Israel Radio reported.
Another rocket hit a farming community but no injuries or damage were reported, the army said.
Palestinians fire rockets into southern Israel frequently but they rarely cause casualties.
Israel began a large military operation in the Gaza Strip at the end of June after a raid by Hamas-linked militants resulted in the capture of an Israeli soldier.
Palestinian groups says that raid was in response to a series of deadly Israeli missile strikes against civilians in gaza in the preceding two weeks.
