TUTORIAL - HOW ADD LOOP ANIMATIONS:
1. Download Addy's Toolkit. This will be the program that you use to compile your custom song to GHWTDE with.
2. Download the song scripts template. Most of these animations won't work unless you compile your custom song with the song scripts template added to Addy's Toolkit. For now you won't need to add anything. Check parts 5-12 for how to add clip animations to song scripts.
3. Download the performance override template.
4. Copy and paste this script between the two brackets (i.e. [ ] ) in your performance override template:
{
time =
scr = Band_PlayLoop
params = {
name =
Male =
Female =
startframe = 0
}
}
5. In the *time* field, add the time coordinate when you want your animation to play in the song, in milliseconds. For example, if you want your loop animation to play 60 seconds into the song, add *60000* . Let's call this script *Script B.* If you add multiple loop animations in the same song, make sure the scripts are in chronological order. For example, if Script B is at 60000, make sure the script that goes below it is a higher number (Script C). And if you want to add a script that takes place before Script B, make sure the script that goes above it is a lower number (Script A).
6. In the *name* field, add *guitarist* or *bassist* . The animation will play for the band member that you chose.
7. In the *Male* and *Female* fields, you add the name of the animation. The name of the animation is displayed on the top left corner of the video, variants are on the top right corner. If an animation has multiple variants, make sure the number of the animation is as close as possible to your song BPM (so that it looks nice). And if the animation name has an *f* or an *m,* make sure the *f* variant goes to female, and the *m* variant goes to male. If the animation doesn't have a letter, it usually means it's the opposite gender of the animation with the letter.
8. In the *startframe* field, you add which frame you want your animation to begin at. This number should usually be at 0, but if you want your animation to sync better with the audio, a different number could work. The unit of time is 30 frames in a second. For example, if you want to cut the first second of your animation, startframe should be 30. If you want to cut the first ten seconds of your animation, it should be 300. Use a little bit of math and play around with it to see what works best for you.
9. When your performance array is finished, save it to a location where you can easily find. I recommend saving it as *perf_override.q* in your Clone Hero custom song's song folder. *.txt* works as well, but Addy's Toolkit seems to prefer the *.q* file extension instead, so I recommend saving the performance override in the *.q* file extension.
10. Compile your song with Addy's Toolkit.
