This webinar is for people who work with water management and data. Ole Smith will discuss the importance of collecting, storing and analyzing hydrometric data, a key parameter in planning, dimensioning, regulating and forecasting rivers and streams. Online stations all over Denmark provide data, and in combination with background data from nearly the past 100 years, it provides insight to handle crisis situations like draught and flood. The data becomes more and more relevant as we see more extreme rain patterns as a consequence of climate change. Going Future ready is also a matter of looking in the past, namely the historical data.
Presenter:
Ole Smith, Technical Director, Hydrometry, M.Sc. Hydrologist, Nature and Environment, WSP in Denmark
