In this episode: Getting out of a weak period, 'Stage Fright' 1950 with Marlene Dietrich and 'Strangers on a Train', 1951
Introduction: (interview starts at 0.45)
In 1949, after the failure of 'Under Capricorn', Hitchcock faces difficult times similar to the dark period in his British career.
That's why he chooses to shoot in 1950 a small detective movie: 'Stage Fright' whoch allows him to work with the fantastic Marlene Dietrich.
However in 1951, Hitchcock made a great comeback with an adaptation of 'Strangers on a Train', from Patricia Highsmith. Despite some difficulties especially the collaboration with Raymond Chandler, 'Strangers on a train' proves once again the Hitchcock is really the master of Suspense.
