Mid-December 2014, WAFB decided to ditch its long running news theme "Newschannel," which it had used since November 1990, in favor of Stephen Arnold's "CBS Local," which is based off the Enforcer theme used by many other CBS affiliates, which, in turn, was based off the song "I Love Chicago, Chicago My Home." Here is what it looks like. All copyrights acknowledged, for evaluation and historical and educational purposes only. WAFB had been using CBS Local for various promos and station IDs as early as October 2014 but switched over to the news theme around December 15. WAFB still calls itself "Louisiana's News Channel," however, the slogan predates adoption of the Newschannel theme by about 2 years, as the station adopted the slogan in 1988, shortly after Aflac purchased the station. While Raycom has historically used Gari Media for its news music, they have apparently cut a deal with Stephen Arnold Music for some of its news themes, with WAFB being one of them. WAFB is the third Louisiana station to use an adaption of Enforcer for its news theme, after KTBS in Shreveport and WDSU in New Orleans (both of which used Palmer News Package). With the adoption of CBS Local, WAFB joins fellow Baton Rouge stations WBRZ and WVLA by using Stephen Arnold news themes for its newscasts (WBRZ has used Extreme since 2007 and WVLA has used The Rock since 2010 and News Matrix during the early 2000s). WAFB is the CBS affiliate for Baton Rouge, LA
