Time to Tab: 7 hours
I couldn't find any live videos of the band playing it live, so it was 100% tabbed by ear. Luckily the bass is pretty simple and follows the guitars. When I first learned the song, I played along to a rocksmith track and had a lot of fun. It was mostly just pedaling 8th notes and such, but as you can tell, this bass line is quite a bit different than straight 8th notes. I definitely can hear where those are coming from. There's a lot of rumbling down in the bass frequencies, but I'm pretty sure a lot of that is from the drums. You can tell clearly when there are straight 8th notes, however there are times where it sounds like the syncopated rhythm and then rumbling underneath of it.
Yeah, so It's real clear when it's syncopated and quarters. When it's 8ths it's not so clear, so I'm going with when it's hard to hear it's 8th notes.
Bar 27: it's easy to hear that it's different than how I originally learnt, but the exact pitches are kind of hard to hear. I doubt it goes r-0-2-2-4-5-4 since the 4 on A, 5 on E, 4 on A would be a tritone and those are rare/avoided in this type of music, though it's pretty fun to play it that way. The real finger pattern is first finger on 2 or 3 of E and then 2 frets higher on the next string (a 5th), and then hitting the octave on the D and back to the 5th on the A. Slowing it down and repeating, it sounds like the bar is r-0-2-3-5-5-5, but the 3 sounds wrong, leading me to think it's a 2. The pattern then is r-0-2-2-4-4-4 (what I have tabbed). This is the simplest and most likely way it was done based on what it sounds like the chord tones are. I spent so much time on this because it appears throughout the song
Bar 90: beat 3 could be 5 on the E, but it sounds right as 0 on E as well. I picked the more fun one. since both sound right.
Thanks for watching! Enjoy :)
