PM Wants to Pay to Keep Refugees Away
Prime Minister Viktor Orban says the EU should give financial aid to non-EU countries, instead of discussing how to distribute refugees within the bloc. He says non-EU states should deal with the refugee influx instead. Orban has previously said that Hungary has a ‘right’ to decide whether it wants to allow in more Muslim asylum seekers. Last week, Hungary’s parliament voted to create ‘transit zones’ to seal off its southern border to refugees.

Arson Victim Dies

The couple’s four year old son is still in hospital. Israeli settlers have been accused of throwing petrol bombs at their home in the occupied West Bank. Several suspects have been arrested. Palestinian President has called for three days of mourning to honour Dawabsheh.
Missing Student Investigation Rejected
An independent group has criticised the government’s investigation into the disappearance of 43 students in Iguala last year. The government says a drug gang, working with local authorities, murdered them and burned their bodies. The government says it was a case of mistaken identity. But the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights says the students were targeted because they’d hijacked a bus the gang had been using to smuggle drugs. And a forensic expert the group hired has suggested a fire big enough to burn all the students’ bodies would have had to burn for 60 hours. Mexico’s attorney general has ordered a new investigation.
