Which infection prevention and control precautions should health workers use when delivering vaccines during the COVID-19 outbreak? In this video, made in collaboration with the World Health Organization, we show you the minimum IPC requirements that should be in place.

The WHO, UNICEF, and other agencies estimate that 80+ million children are at risk of diseases such as measles and polio, because COVID-19 has disrupted vaccination in many areas.

“We cannot let our fight against one disease come at the expense of long-term progress in our fight against other diseases,” said Henrietta Fore, UNICEF Executive Director. “We have effective vaccines against measles, polio and cholera. While circumstances may require us to temporarily pause some immunization efforts, these immunizations must restart as soon as possible, or we risk exchanging one deadly outbreak for another.”
