We’ll show you how to use the native MAC OS Software update to install or upgrade/update your CATALINA or MONTEREY install using @Martin Lo’s Mac Pro 5,1 OpenCore package. This assumes you are familiar with OpenCore, what it does, and that you already have it installed.
## Before Install
------------------------
Simply follow the steps in this video to:
1. TURN ON the VMM flag, (change lower A to C - ↓ should look like this below ↓ )
1. AAAAAAAAAAAAAACAAAAAAA
2. AAAAAAAAAAAAAACAAAAAAA
2. Turn OFF SMBIOS spoofing. = (change it to: false - ↓ should look like this below ↓ )
1. UpdateSMBIOS
2. true
3. REBOOT: When these steps are taken, you will be able to install Catalina (and Monterey) after you reboot
## After Install
------------------------
Once you finished the macOS installation, now it’s time to REVERSE what you did. This will re-enable hardware acceleration on your supported Graphics Card.
1. TURN OFF the VMM flag, (change lower C to A - ↓ should look like this below ↓ )
1. AAAAAAAAAAAAAACAAAAAAA
2. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
2. SWITCH ON SMBIOS spoofing in other to restore all hardware functions with max performance.
1. = (change it to: false - ↓ should look like this below ↓ )
2. UpdateSMBIOS
3. true
3. REBOOT. You should now have hardware acceleration.
