[EN] TUXEDO has been appointed by Dermablend USA (L'Oréal Group) to create a video campaign showcasing the benefits of Dermablend Professional Leg & Body Tattoo Primer & Leg products. This campaign, titled « Go beyond the Cover », features Rico Genest, also known as Zombie Boy the fashion world's new darling.

Arising a meeting between Zombie Boy and Ludwig Ciupka, Creative Director at Tuxedo who discovered Rico in 2009, this collaboration resulted in a project aiming to highlight the importance our society gives to looks, and how they can be misleading. The basic idea was to « transform » Zombie Boy by completely hiding his tattoos (face and body). This operation, which involved a whole day of work from a team of expert make-up artists, made Zombie Boy unrecognizable.

The video came out on Wednesday night at 5:30 pm leaked by Refinery29.com but was officially launched to media outlets and bloggers on Thursday morning at 9:00 am. In less than 24 hours, the video had 500 000 views, gaining around 10 000 views per hour and the numbers keep on rising exponentially.

The story is now known worldwide (daily Mail, Cosmopolitan, Blog de Betty, Telegraph, Dlisted, Buzzfeed and publications in Russia, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, etc.)

Cette campagne, intitulée « Go beyond the Cover » (« Aller au-delà des apparences »), met en vedette Rico Genest, aussi connu sous le nom de Zombie Boy, nouvelle coqueluche du monde de la mode.

Née de la rencontre entre Zombie Boy et Ludwig Ciupka, Directeur de création chez Tuxedo qui aura découvert Rico en 2009, cette collaboration a donné lieu à un projet cherchant à mettre en évidence l'importance qui est accordée aux apparences et comment celles-ci peuvent être trompeuses. De là a germé l'idée de « transformer » Zombie Boy en masquant complètement ses tatouages (visage et corps). Cette opération qui a pris une journée complète de travail d'une équipe d'experts en maquillage a rendu Zombie Boy méconnaissable.

La vidéo est sortie mercredi soir à 17h30 via le blogue Refinery29.com mais fut officiellement lancée aux médias et blogueurs ce jeudi vers 9h. En moins de 24 heures, 500 000 visionnements ont été faits, augmentant d'environ 10 000 vues par heure et les chiffres continuent à monter exponentiellement.
