A guitar lesson on the famous “G-Run” over every possible major chord: G-C-D-F-A-E-B. If you listen to the great bluegrass guitarists, you’ll notice a common element in their playing; the so-called “G Run”. This lick is generally played starting and ending with the root note of the chord you’re playing over. It also includes a chromatic 3 note series somewhere in the middle. I think of the “G-Run” as a sort of soloing hack, meaning it gives you a quick way to find notes to solo with quickly regardless of the chord or key. You can even just use this lick as a solo in-and-of itself!
