Horizons returned to the legendary Maida Vale Studios in December 2016, with all 12 artists getting the chance to record three live songs following in the footsteps of many legendary artists from the Beatles to the Foo Fighters, to One Direction.
There is an invigorating, fresh purity to Danielle Lewis’ music. Her wonderfully clear voice sounds as effortless and uncontrived as Karen Carpenter’s.
Her songs are timeless folk pop songs that have the potential to appeal across generations, with a similar melodic nowse to Taylor Swift or Lucy Rose.
No doubt, her writing and performing skills were honed when she spent 8 months taking her music around Australia, including a high profile appearance at the Quiksilver Pro Worldwide Surfing Championships in 2012.
Horizons/ Gorwelion is a scheme delivered by BBC Cymru Wales in partnership with Arts Council Wales to develop new, independent contemporary music in Wales.
Dychwelodd Gorwelion i stiwdios byd enwog Maida Vale ym mis Rhagfyr, gyda’r 12 artist yn cael cyfle i recordio tair cân yn fyw gan ddilyn yn ôl troed llawer o artistiaid enwog, o’r Beatles i’r Foo Fighters a One Direction.
Mae gan gerddoriaeth Danielle Lewis goethder glas yn perthyn iddi. Mae ei llais rhyfeddol o eglur yn swnio mor naturiol a diymdrech ag un Karen Carpenter.
Mae gan ei chaneuon pop gwerinol bythol y potensial i apelio ar draws cenedlaethau, gyda greddf alawol debyg i Taylor Swift neu Lucy Rose.
Heb os nac oni bai, cafodd ei sgiliau ysgrifennu a pherfformio eu mireinio pan dreuliodd hi wyth mis yn teithio ar draws Awstralia yn perfformio ei cherddoriaeth, gan gynnwys ymddangosiad proffil uchel ym Mhencampwriaethau Syrffio Byd-eang Proffesiynol Quicksilver yn 2012.
