Learn how to come to lynd fruit farm and pick your own farm fresh apples!
I'm Andy land from Lynd Fruit Farm and I represent the fourth generation of apple growers at our farm located in central Ohio in Pataskala. A picture at our farm is a little bit different than other orchards that also do pick your own. A family decides they're going to go out and pick apples for the day and once they get to the intersection of Morse Rd. and State Route 310 they'll see signage. And on any given day, the apples that were picking maybe east of 310 or west of 310 it depends on the variety. So they'll look for that signage and they'll turn accordingly. And then they'll see another arrow that points into the orchard on a driveway, a nice paved driveway. So they'll pull into that driveway and then they'll eventually come to a greeter. And the greeter is somebody that works for us that is very pleasant and knowledgeable about what's going on.
And they'll ask, how are you today? Uh, you looking forward to picking apples, how many apples would you like to pick? And usually the customer knows the routine and they'll say, we'll take one bag, half Bushel bag. They'll take the bag and then there'll be directed into the orchard to pull forward and find the area where we're picking the park, wherever they'd like, get out of their car and wander through the orchard and pick apples. And then when they're finished, they reload their car, their apples into their car, and they continue pulling forward until they come to the checkout area where we have other employees who will collect the money for the apples, and then the customer is on their way.
