Dr. Morrone explains how the 12/27/2017 laws signed by Lt. Gov. will like make addiction worse. Not enough treatment in the state and none in the new laws. WNEM (ch 5 News) was honest and balanced to question public servants driving policy without provider input.
Deaths are Heroin and Fentanyl not prescription Rx. Lt. Gov. positioned himself for a gubernatorial campaign not reducing O.D. deaths and not increasing treatment.
There is no evidence based scientifically correct position by the state. 560,000 providers and national leaders ask to simplify $$ access to care, reduce the red tape to get in a program & pay board certified Addiction Medicine providers better to incentivize more providers. The state, lawmakers and Lt. Gov. presented none of these is their law package.
Deaths spiral out of control and triple in the last 7-8 years. Only a new administration with fresh people that think differently can change the course of this ill fated epidemic.
