Donald Trump is visiting Detroit Saturday to make what appears to be a late attempt to woo black voters.
He attended a service at Great Faith Ministries International, where he spoke to worshippers.
"The African-American faith community has been one of God's greatest gifts to America and to its people," Trump said. "There is perhaps no action our leaders can take to do more to heal our country and support our people than to provide a greater platform to the black churches and churchgoers," he said.
Despite the apparent outreach, protesters gathered outside the church ahead of Trump's visit.
In addition to delivering remarks, the GOP nominee is also recording a private interview with the church's pastor, Bishop Wayne T. Jackson.
During his visit to the Motor City, Trump's campaign has also scheduled him to take a tour with his former rival Dr. Ben Carson, a Detroit native.
