Adult Gap Year! Are you thinking of the following: Mid-Career Break, Sabbatical Year, a Year of Rest, early retirement or quitting or resigning from your job? Look no further because, in this video, I am explaining why I am taking my year of rest that started September 2021 and will go through September 2022 following the Hebrew calendar and year 5782. We live in a society where people feel overworked, drained, and frustrated with being on a hamster wheel, rat race and being slaves to their 9-5 jobs. The great resignation or the “big quit” that happened in 2020 showed how people really feel about their jobs. Per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 4 million Americans quit their jobs in July 2021. This wasn’t an American phenomenon but a widespread phenomenon that was truly international. There was a desire and need for something more, and people are being awakened to the fact that perhaps we all bought into that lie that overworking equates to success and happiness. What if there is more that can be unlocked through an adult gap year or year of rest?
