Here’s the keyboard solo from the Toto hit ‘Pamela’ which appeared on ‘The Seventh One’ album released in 1988.
This one isn’t too difficult, although you need a bit of dexterity in the 2nd section. But with a bit of practice anyone can do it. Take it slow and build it up from there.
The 1st section is pretty much a big synth sawtooth / horn mixed with a bit of piano & FM piano.
The faster 2nd section is piano / FM piano and mono synth combined (at least that’s what I hear anyway patch wise).
A delay effect comes in over the descending part (pretty much an Am blues run)
I didn’t bother playing a horn line in between sections 1 and 2 of the solo as that’s played by a real horn section and the gtr also doubles this line as well. It’s very easy anyway and you can just add that in when you play it.
Got my friend Steve Murphy doing a great Luke in this. Here’s his YouTube channel :

As always, if you want to have a go at this, I’ve included extra footage at the end for you to learn the solo at a slower pace.
