The legendary Dutch judoka Willem "Wim" Ruska is the only judoka in history to win two gold medals in judo at the same Olympics, a feat he achieved at super-heavyweight and all-round weight in the 1972 Olympics. He is widely regarded as one of the strongest judokas in his heyday.
During his active judo career, Ruska won five European titles in the 93 kg category and two more European titles in the open weight category. He also won the judo world championship twice in 1967 and 1971. He participated in Japanese pro wrestling after retiring from judo in 1972. And in 2013 Wim Ruska was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Judo Federation.
