Not a film photography video, but still one that means a lot to me. This theatre has been on my bucket list for a while and there's no shortage of great footage and detailed history overview of this theatre online, so I won't go into too much detail (just look up abandoned Pokemon theatre on youtube!)
This Italian Renaissance style theatre was originally a vaudeville theatre in the 1920s and went through a few transformations and ownership changes through the years. Several infamous recurring ghost stories haunt the place, but I felt quite comfortable being here. I could have sat on the edge of the stage all day just taking in the ceiling pattern and the statues and red seats that fan all the way into the darkness in the back of the theatre, but of course I couldn't stick around for too long because of the air quality. It's been slated for condo development for years now, but so far the theatre's been left alone. You usually wouldn't notice the theatre while passing by it from the outside because it's covered in graffiti and it's backed away from the street behind a parking lot, but I always like to pause in front of it to wonder how something so grand can be so easily overlooked.
