Regardless of your level or how long you've been skating, making sure your normal skating stride is correct will bring you many benefits.
Avoiding the slow-onset injuries that can happen if bad habits form, particularly prolonged skating on an inside edge pronation (on one or both feet) should be a priority for every skater.
There is a lot of confusion regarding what constitutes a "correct stride" and most beginner & intermediate skaters don't even realise they're making serious mistakes that will only become more compounded over time.
V-ing in the pizza shape is correct for complete beginners just getting started or for whenever you need to accelerate for a short distance. Acceleration doesn't continue for long. As you improve, your set down position should evolve from the beginner Pizza V shape to a straight ahead set down when maintaining speed and not accelerating.
So many intermediate skaters are skating with the V position of beginners and this creates and prolongs the tendency to have a pronation. One problem causes the other!
The Skatefresh How to Skate for Fitness online course series addresses these issues and teaches you to skate correctly, eradicate the V-ing set down, gain conscious edge control, gliding balance and increase your speed & efficiency, whatever your current ability level.
The Skatefresh Method of progressive exercises will also build your strength and stamina while you perfect your technique.
Don't let bad habits ruin your skating or your joints.
You can test 2-3 exercises from each course absolutely FREE.
