My childhood memories are among my most cherished treasures and those of my elders are on the very top. Food, family and friends are as intertwined as the love and laughter shared.

Ingredients:

4 cups apples
4 cups water
3/4 cups sugar
1/4 brown sugar
2 teaspoon cinnamon
2-3 pinches of salt
1 tablespoon butter
2/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour (add more if needed)
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2-3 pinches of salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 2/3 cup milk
3 tablespoons oil or melted butter
