My Savage 12FV is a whole new beast, thanks to Preferred Barrel Blanks. The rifle I've dubbed "Telekinesis" is still a .243 Winchester varmint rig, but it is behaving very differently. Let's see how.

The first benefit of a high-quality barrel is its cold-bore hit. My rifle is printing its first round of the day to the same spot as every other hit. The next benefit is the barrel's insensitivity as projectiles and powder charges change. This rifle is printing overlapping groups at 400 yards with completely different pills: 87-grain BTHP, 87-grain VMAX, and 105-grain BTHP. This barrel also demonstrates an insensitivity to heat. Groups don't noticeably open up with increasing heat. And finally, unexpectedly, the barrel vibrations are so consistent that with two of my Satterlee tests I printed a "V" on the target, indicating clearly which loads hit the accuracy node, and which don't.
