The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will next week downgrade its forecast for 2.9 percent global growth in 2023, Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said on Thursday, citing rising risks of recession and financial instability.
In an interview with CNBC, she said that U.S Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell was walking a “very, very narrow” path in shaping monetary policy, but the IMF expected interest rates to be “somewhere in the 4 percent territory” in 2022 and 2023.
