Courtnee Roze The Musical is a New York City Based percussion driven production. The musicians perform on a variety of instruments including congas, djembe, drums, bass, keyboard, strings, woodwinds, brass, taps. The band features and rotates a collective of 20 musicians. The band has been described as one of the most innovative, influential, and intriguing acts of their generation. Also, the youngest and fastest growing stage visual in New York City. Their music is a collective of Funk, Fusion, Afro beat, Soul, House, Live Dance creations and Heavy Percussion. People are often fill with astonishment by the bands diversity and power to memorize an audience of different age groups/all walks of life.
Introducing the performance across the world to various venues is the mission. Bringing a percussion driven unit to the forefront would create a culture of its own. Drums/ Percussion are the heart beat of music. Therefore, the movement carries along a pleasing effect. The music captures the ears of individuals that wouldn't normally get together on a day to day bases. The world has hip hop, pop, r&b, jazz, but when you place drums and percussion as the driving force; we'll have an enormous culture of freedom.
This summer "The Musical" debuted at Make Music Festival in Harlem, which had over 300 people in attendance. Their most recent sold out performance was at Joe's Pub. Shrine, Red Rooster, and Rockwood Music Hall was some of the other enormous events.
Bio.
[Courtnee Roze – Percussion - began studying and playing percussion since the age of 7! She works as a freelance artist in New York City. Her instruments of choice are Djembe and Conga’s. She's also the founder of the band "Courtnee Roze-(SaySomethin); Its a visual musical that describes the history of Courtnee Roze's journey in the music industry. A piece of creative music that tells an in-depth testimony of a young female musician. The sound of African Rhythms, House Music, Fusion and World Music creates the sound that compliments the entire piece of work.
She has worked with many different artists, including Marcus Samulson (Red Rooster Harlem), Donna Karen, Larocque Bey,
J. Cole (Billboard Album & Radio hit "Crooked Smile"), and Alicia Keys. She has worked at the Apollo Theater’s Main Stage and Café, the Barclays Center for the Brooklyn Nets, and Madison Square Garden for the New York Knicks, and Cirque Du Soliel in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Other appearances include BET Network’s Music Matters and For Colored Girls, a stage production directed by the award winning Mel Williams.] Her most recent performances were at Carnegie Hall, May 21st for Best Buddies Benefit Concert, Tom Brady's celebrity Foot Ball match and United Nations for the ambassadors of Africa/ Magazine and Television, Joe's Pub w/ her own stage visual The Musical & Joe's Pub w/ Tony Award winner Lachanze from The Color Purple.
