Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has begun her Budget Speech in Parliament, the first Budget in the Amrit Kaal. Sitharaman, during her fifth and the current government’s last full Budget before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, said the government’s focus is on wide-ranging reforms. “India’s rising global profile is because of several reforms.” Sitharaman said India’s per-capita income has doubled and the Indian econony has risen from being 10th to fifth-larget economy in the world.
