Probiotic supplements contain beneficial bacteria that are known for their various health benefits. Some of the benefits of taking probiotics during pregnancy include:
1. An increased number of healthy bacteria being present and a low number of staphlococcus aurea bacteria being present, which can help protect children from becoming overweight and obese.
2. Probiotics modulate the immune system which helps to strengthen your immune system and lower inflammation
3. Probiotic supplementation during pregnancy may help prevent against atopic dermatitis (eczema).
4. Supplementing during pregnancy may also decrease the incidence of bacterial vaginosis.
