The carotid sheath is a tube that runs from the chest to the skull, formed by the blending of fascia in the neck. It contains a number of crucial structures.

The MNEMONIC we use to help us remember the contents of the sheath is:

H= Hypoglossal N.
A= Accessory N.
V = Vagus N
I = ICA, IJV
N = Nodes
G = Glossopharyngeal N
