Speed Training is critical part of your ultra marathon & marathon training as it helps with:
Increasing leg speed
Raising your VO2 and lactate threshold
Helps you focus on form and running technique
Strenghthens your muscles (fast twitch fibres)
Makes bloodflow efficient
Speed Training Running Workout:
20 min warm up 5RPE
10 x (30s @ 8=9 RPE w/3min recovery @ 6RPE)
20 min cool down
Total workout time : 1h 8mins
Ran in my Hoka Mafate Evo 2 - nice and lightweight for my workouts with grip and cushioning. Drank some Tailwind electrolyte drink before and after the workout.
