This drink was created in the 1970's in San Francisco at a bar called Henry's Africa. The drink was invented to pay homage to the lemon candies that helped with your sore throat.

Vodka was the popular spirit at the time, so they decided to go with vodka for this drink. The Lemon Drop is a simple three ingredient cocktail, that you can slightly tweak to your preference. If you like it a little more sweet feel free to add more Triple Sec, and lower the amount of lemon, and visa versa.

This is equally as popular as shots as it is as a cocktail, and this recipe will make you 2 shots, if you want a single shot, just half all the ingredients.

Lemon Drop recipe:

⚈ 2oz (60 ml) Vodka
⚈ .75oz (22ml) Triple Sec
⚈ .75oz (22ml) Lemon Juice



1) Add Ingredients into your shaker, then Add ice.
2) Shake your cocktail for 8-10 seconds.
3) Sugar the rim of your martini glass.
4) Double strain your cocktail into your glass.
5) Garnish with a lemon wheel or peel.
