Furoshiki is the traditional Japanese way to wrap gifts or carry goods. Instead of using wasteful wrapping paper or bags, the Japanese people carefully wrap their gifts or goods in reusable fabric ranging from the wildest prints to soft pastels.
The practice is a centuries old tradition and we are happy to notice that people all over the world are starting to love it! Because it’s better to spread the love instead of the waste, isn’t it?
In this video, we are showing you how to wrap small box with furoshiki. The way of wrapping is called HIRA TSUTSUMI in Japanese.
1. First spread out the furoshiki in a diamond shape
2. Put the closest corner on the box to wrap
3. Cover left side and right side of the furoshiki in the center and fold any excess so that it does not overlap.
4. Put the furthest point on the box
