దక్షిణ మధ్యరైల్వే చరిత్రలోనే తొలిసారిగా ఓ DRM స్థాయి అధికారి అవినీతి ఆరోపణలపై అరెస్ట్ అయ్యారు. గతిశక్తి విభాగంగా పలు రైల్వే బ్రిడ్జిల నిర్మాణానికి సంబంధించిన కాంట్రాక్టుల్లో అవినీతికి పాల్పడ్డారన్న ఆరోపణలపై మూడు రోజులు సోదాలు నిర్వహించిన సీబీఐ గుంతకల్ రైల్వే డివిజనల్ మేనేజర్ వినీత్ సింగ్ సహా నలుగురు రైల్వే అధికారులను అరెస్ట్ చేసింది.
