Basic ingredients for 2 persons:- Take 1 bowl soaked mung beans, 1 cup chopped fresh green spinach , 1 tomato chopped, 4 garlic cloves, 2-3 green chilies, ginger, turmeric powder- 1 tbsp, red chili powder -1 tbsp, salt - 1 tbsp, asafoetida - a pinch, cumin seeds - a pinch, oil - 1 tbsp. and water - 2 cup.
First make a ginger, garlic, chili and tomato paste. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, asafoetida powder, tomato paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. Saute for 1 minute then add mung beans and again saute for 1 minute. Add spinach, mix well then add 2 cup of water. Pressure cook for 5-6 minutes. Serve hot with Indian flatbread or rice.
