10 Tips for actors looking to get into background work!

Set Lingo/Vocabulary
Holding- Where you'll spend most of the day waiting to go on set, filling out vouchers, checking in, etc.
Voucher- Form you fill out to get paid, you will need 3 SAG to become eligible to join the union
Craft Services- Food available to background to consume
Rolling-Camera is on and everyone should be ready to go
Sound speed-Recording audio, don't talk or even whisper
Background- yelled before the director calls action to the principal characters, background actors should begin whatever they were instructed to do(typically pantomime something)
Cut-Stop
Mark-Where you need to stand
AD- Assistant Director
Wardrobe- The clothes you wear while filming
