Klaus Schønning, born in 1954 in Denmark, started musical career as keyboard player in the 'Jo Banks and Soul Train' band touring extensively in the late 70s. Originally he was hired as organist, but this steadily developed into a great passion for synthesizers and multi-track tape recorders. In 1980s Klaus moved to Berlin where he began recording the 'Symphodyssé' series - a series of albums with a new age sound. The series was originally intended as a four-part work, one for each corner of the world.
Klaus Schønning played the following instruments: synthesizers, sampling keyboards, variophon, rhythm computer, piano, hammer spinet, zither, harp, kantele, hammer dulcimer, psalter, saz, 12-string guitar, Portugese guitar, glockenspiel, accordeon, percussion.
