Coastal Carolina University and its Charles Joyner Institute for Gullah and African Diaspora Studies are leaders in preserving and promoting Gullah Geechee culture. This month, there are two events on the Cultural Arts Calendar that provide a look into that culture through food. Each will involve a taped presentation with Gullah Geechee cooks, followed by a live Q&A session.
Gullah Geechee Food Traditions I is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m.
Gullah Geechee Food Traditions II is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, 6:30 p.m.
