Puto pao is one of the many creative variants of the ordinary puto, and usually the white puto. Actually you can do the same with the ordinary puto batter by just putting a filling inside.
Puto Pao Ingredients:
Pork Asado filling Ingredients:
250 grams pork shoulder (kasim), cut into small cubes
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. cornstarch diluted in 1/8 cup water
1/8 cup soy sauce
1/8 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. oyster sauce
1/4 tsp. black pepper powder
2 Tbsp. cooking oil
1 cup water
Puto pao batter ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
2 Tbsp. baking powder
1 + 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/8 cup butter
sliced salted egg
cheese sticks
