When you create and market a device as Apple Homekit compatible, you are selling that device, in a way, as an extension to the Apple Ecosystem. And to be able to do just that, you need to be Apple Homekit certified. And that certification costs money. A lot of money. So when a company like Wipro starts finally making Apple Homekit enabled devices, they will put in a lot of effort to make their devices work with Apple homekit (trust me I have read their documentation), pay a lot of money to get certified and with planning, transfer that certification costs to you- the consumer because at the end of the day - the feature is for you.
This is also the reason why Apple Homekit enabled devices cost a lot of money. In India, the cheapest device you can buy that is Apple Homekit certified and doesn’t suck, is xiomi’s Smart Bedside Lamp 2 for Rs 3000. But after all the fancy tricks it can do as part of the Apple ecosystem, it is just a lamp. and then there is Philips Hue that well is like 11000 rupees for 3 or 4 bulbs and a bridge. Ugh. (khhrrr). But all that aside, angry consumers like you and I have found ways to make these cheap devices that are not Homekit certified work with Siri. With a little magic here, with a little Siri shortcut there —— boom- you can go - “hey Siri, Rock my world"

Here is a simple way to connect almost all Wipro devices with Siri and make them work like a charm. (I say almost because I haven’t persoannly tried all wipro devices but I keep adding them to my smart home and if you are interested in an exhaustive link of wipro AND OTHER devices that I have persoannly tested with siri, please find my blog link in the description down below.)
Without any further ado, let’s get started.
The fact that you are watching this video after already owning Wipro’s smart devices, chances are that you have already connected your device to Wipro’s native app. Well you have to reset the device because Wipro's app SUCKS.
Step1: Reset your device and put it in pairing mode- the light on the bulb or the switch of the smart plug must be rapidly blinking.
Step 2: For the bulb, put the bulb in a functioning bulb socket and turn the switch on-off-on-off-on with a half secomnd tio one second gap between each operation. For the plug, find the switch integrated as part of the plug and hold the switch for 7 seconds
Step 3: Open the smart life app and find the approprate device category and start pairing.
