1994 - Joey Soto discovered talented young rapper & dance songwriter/artist Robin Real. Joey worked with Robin as a freelance engineer, drum programmer and co-producer. Then recruited friend Anthony Lopez on Lead Vocals, forming the band Latin Touch, who signed a record deal with former Ritchie Valens manager Bob Keane at DEL-FI Records. Many of Joey's original recordings were used on their final album "From the Heart". Mastered at Capital Records by Mark Chalecki. Joey performed the drums at Latin Touch's Southern California shows.
Hey ROBIN (Boy Wonder), when I got the news of your passing from your family a couple years back, I was speechless. It was a trilling experience on getting Latin Touch off the ground. From my bedroom 8- track recordings, then soon getting sign to DEL-FI Records and releasing the final CD "From the Heart".
Robin at 17 years old, this was a huge accomplishment for you. Just think, if we had the internet back in the day to promote this album it would have done well. Today, there's people contacting me and saying how they love this song "Viva La Familia" bringing back those great memories... My friend ROBIN REAL, may you rest in peace as my condolences goes out to your family especially, your Mom and Dad. Your Dad use to get a kick of my drumming at the shows!!! HA
I share this video in memory of you, your talent as a inspiring producer/songwriter/ and performer.
Thank you Boy Wonder and Bob Keane R.I.P.
Sincerely,
J L S
