Ben Schafer, a member of the David Keith research group and co-founder of Microavionics, discusses his research on sunlight-powered levitation in the atmosphere of lightweight devices that don't require onboard power and have no moving parts. These could be used to measure climate data, as network relay elements supporting telecommunications, or to support national defense.
