so in my AU personification remember well what happened since their first mention in writings. So there's no lie in history they know
they're raised by earlier personifications, but they know memories and what happened on these terythori (for example- Russia was raised by USSR and has his memories, but he knows what happened while USSR was in rule in objective way.) basically they're the same personification, but with different personality. So you can't blame Russia for what happened when there was USSR
imma keep with example with USSR and Russia because it's easier to explain
about memories - well, personification saw these memories and felt it. so if USSR was for example tortu red, than Russia felt almost the same pain (just a little lower. every new personification lessened the pain. so that means if Russian Empire had a hole in his stomach, USSR felt it with lesser pain (but not much less) and Russia would have in memories even less pain than USSR), even if they're different person
and about scars (like Poland for example)
if the damage was too big to lost hope in getting lost if scar, the scar would be possessed by every generation. with every generation of course it would be less visible. so scars from the the beginning are barely (if) visible
