An impromptu ride from Los Angeles finds Chad riding North until he "figures something out or runs out of road, whichever comes first". Following State Route 1 (Big Sur Highway) through California, he departs the pavement to explore the farthest reaches of The Lost Coast, before continuing along the Coast Highway through Oregon and Washington, where he tries his luck getting into Canada...
