The process of selecting and purchasing a set of custom wheels can be exhausting. There are so many styles, sizes, and finishes that its difficult to narrow them down. When you finally pull the trigger the anticipation of receiving your new wheels is overwhelming! But before you just bolt them up there are a few things you need to check. In this video Greg is back in the shop with a few tips and tricks of what to expect when you receive your new wheels from CARiD.com, as well as how to properly test fit them so you don’t run into any issues.
Check the Box. As much as we pride ourselves on our stellar customer service mistakes happen, so the first thing you need to do is ensure you received the correct wheel. Double check the size and finish of the wheel to your order, and make sure you received the necessary lug nuts and hub rings that are required to install them.
Test Fitting. The last thing you want is to bolt up a new set of wheels only to find out that you have clearance issues. To make sure that doesn’t happen, Greg walks you through the step by step process of testing fitting your bare wheel, and wheel and tire assembly. Its important to identify any fitment issues before you decide to drive away and cause serious damage. And if there are tire clearance issues you may be able to correct it with simple modifications.
TPMS Systems. One of most troubling and confusing aspects of installing a new set of wheels is TPMS sensors and relearning them to the vehicle. Its important to make sure that you relearn all your new sensors to your vehicles control unit so they can communicate and notify you if low tire pressure occurs. There are different procedures for every vehicle so if you don’t know, contact our wheel and tire specialists and they will be happy to assist you.
