AVAILABLE: SUMMER 2013
PRESS RELEASE:
Ashes (Ajay Naidu, The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream) is a young, Indo-American man struggling in the inner city of New York to support himself and his mentally ill, big brother, Kartik (Faran Tahir, Star Trek, Iron Man, Charlie Wilson's War, Anywhere But Here) ... but their lives are unraveling.
When a group of small-time, Indian gangsters offer him an easy road to wealth, he pursues the opportunity with vigor. While his brother continues to decline, Ashes embarks on a steady path towards hardcore crime.
But as the harshness of life on the unforgiving city streets consumes him, Ashes' traditional Indian values urge him to reclaim his life and choose the correct path.
Co-written and the directorial debut of Naidu, Ashes was a selected film at numerous film festivals around the world, winning "Best of Festival" at the Queens World Film Festival and "Best Actor" (Naidu) at the MIACC Film Festival.
Also starring Heather Burns (Two Weeks Notice, Miss Congeniality, You've Got Mail) and Piper Perabo (Because I Said So, The Prestige, Coyote Ugly).
