The Pedersen Shakespeare Character Garden at the Utah Shakespeare Festival is a beautiful place to stroll, relax, and ponder about some of Shakespeare's most famous characters, including Hamlet, Bottom, Falstaff, and more. But it isn't the only public artwork in Cedar City. There are statues, murals, and more scattered around the Beverley Center for the Arts, Southern Utah University, and Cedar City.

Matt Nickerson, associate dean and library director at Southern Utah University, has made it his work to provide a cell phone-based audio tour of this public artwork, called CedarTalks. He is putting QR codes by each of the pieces of art that link to information and audio files about each piece. He joins us for this Virtual Seminar to discuss his experiences surrounding the curation of these unique and interactive tools and the stories learned along the way. Education Director Michael Bahr will moderate the discussion.

Nickerson holds degrees in biochemistry, acting performance, and information and library science. His scholarship has included the intersection of cultural heritage and technology.
