The middle-weight category is stronger than ever, with a breadth of competitive offerings within the class. For those that might want something a bit more stylish, the 2018 Yamaha XSR700 fits the bill, without sacrificing any comfort or performance in the name of great looks.
Built on the well-loved foundation of the MT-07, the 2018 Yamaha XSR700 is the middle-weight addition to the sportier side of Yamaha's Sport Heritage lineup, which includes the XSR900.
With a few changes to the MT-07, the XSR700 offers a slightly different, yet familiar experience. Those changes come in the form of a more upright riding position and relatively neutral rider triangle, that still allows a rider to move around once the pace picks up. In addition to that, the suspension is now featuring revised spring rates, as well as, damping characteristics which help an already solid platform become even more stable out in the streets.
We had the opportunity to spend a full day in the saddle of the 2018 Yamaha XSR700 and Senior Editor Nic de Sena shared some of his thoughts.
